Fall Foliage Cruise 2001

The Group
Dashboard Photo
Attendance at this year's Fall Folliage Cruise was excellent. A highlight of the Saturday activites was out visit to the top of Mt. Scott. It's 360 degree view was breathtaking. It was quite a trip to the top but well worth the effort.

One of the stops on this year's Fall Cruise was at the prairie dog village. We had quite a lineup of cars.

James Chesher found this high point from which to get a picture of all the cars at the top of Mt. Scott.

Saturday night fever
Dashboard Photo
John Dragoo and David Reeds suckered in several people at the Saturday night gathering. The victims did a good version of the William Tell Overture --- Tittie Rump, Tittie Rump, Tittie Rump Rump Rump. The lesson here is to never volunteer for anything.

Ken Monroe and Kay Welch handled the chores during a game of Chevy Bingo. At times it seemed as though Ken was calling out numbers for cards no one had.

It looks like the game being called here is blackout or possibly 4 corners. The Chevy Bingo game was used as a method to hand out the door prizes for each event. Each attendee brought a door prize. The assignment was for each couple to bring one female and one male door prize not to exceed $5 in value each. This way everyone was assured of not going home empty handed. The game went on for a long time before we eventually just asked anyone who hadn't won yet to go up and pick out a door prize. In
this photo Gary and Jeannie Kirk, Gary and Jeannie Baergen, Ray Addington and Vickey Addington are trying to get all their Chevys in a row.

Friday Night Fun

Dashboard Photo
A rousing game of chicken foot Friday night was followed by this domino tower built by Vickey Addington. Cici Monroe looks on in awe.

Debbie Riley handled the check-in procedure Friday night. She and Rip
Riley were seen later that night enjoying the motel's hot tub.

Mel Harris played waiter Friday night and brought his wife
Rustyne a margarita.

Poker was just one of the games played Friday night. For some reason David wore this crown. To his right Larry Myers laughs at the sight.

Despite beeing startled by the strobe, Bill Washam was able to select a door prize.
Munchies in Meers

Bill Chaffin, Curtis Welch and Ken Monroe stand guard outside the Meers restaurant. This place is known for its hamburgers and desserts. The reputation is well deserved. We stopped here for lunch on Saturday.

Rustyne Harris returns a credit card to Bill Chaffin as Kathy Chaffin looks on. It seems Bill had left the card at the front desk of the motel. The clerk returned the card to Rustyne while the club was eating out Saturday night. We all had a good laugh when Rustyne thanked the Chaffins for dinner saying we had put the entire bill on the card. She was kidding of course.

This is the historic Old Plantation at Medicine Park. It housed a restaurant and, in the remains of the bar, a whole lot of stuff. Many people rummaged through the stuff Saturday with some going back for more rummaging Sunday.
