A Valentines Day message of life

By Don Bays
COCCC Secretary

I'd like to share just a bit of my presentation to Carol & The Club at our Valentines Day meeting. This is a bit of philosophy that I have shared with some of my financial planning clients, who I thought might benefit from the message. I had not previously had the courage to share this with Carol until John came up with this idea for our near Valentine's Day meeting.

Dance Like No One's Watching --- Too many people five their lives convinced that things will get better after something happens, i.e. after marriage, after having a baby, after divorce, after getting the kids out of the house or any number of excuses for not trying to be happy. There is no way to happiness -- happiness is the way! So treasure every moment that you have. Treasure it because you shared it with someone special. And remember that time waits for no one.

If we're lucky, we get about 80 years of life, perhaps only 80 springtime's, only 80 glorious autumns. So stop waiting until you finish school or go back to school, or lose 10 pounds or gain 10 pounds or whatever the excuse you're using and just realize there is no better time to be happy than right now!

So - Work like you don't need the money, Love like you've never been hurt, and Dance like no one's watching.
