Fall Foliage Cruise

The Ozarks welcomed Chevy-owners from five states for our annual Fall Foliage Cruise the second
weekend in November. Our group had full run of the Swiss Holiday Resort in Eureka Springs--using the club room for meeting, greeting, eating and chicken-feeting.

The early birds left OKC on Thursday to allow extra time for shopping, sight-seeing and the big bonus for the guys...a visit to H &H Classic Parts for Chevrolets in Bentonville,AR. Owners Herman and Liz Smith joined us for the weekend tours and activities. The rest of the Chevies showed up throughout the day Friday.

Saturday was a gorgeous, nippy, autumn day. Great for riding the trolley downtown, strolling DOWN the unique, Victorian-era shopping area and ultimately CRUISING through scenic northwest Arkansas.

Our hosts Randy and Dollie Lou Resh from Cave Springs,AR planned a scenic drive with plenty of stops for “photo ops ”. The War Eagle Mill was the most scenic opportunity for our photos. A step back in time –even for our 50-year-old Chevies. The destination, of course, was the famed AQ Chicken Restaurant in Springdale, AR. The vittles lived up to their reputation. Our Saturday evening activity was the Music Show at the Ozark Mountain Hoe Down...a fun time.

From the Tulsa area were Ervin & Patsy Postier, Gary & Jeannie Baergen, Ken & Marsha Aikins, Gary & Jeannie Kirk, Jim & Donna Siegfried, Bob & Cheryl Plett.

We had a great group from Springfield, MO. Vern & Angie Vire, Barb & Ken Langley, Lorreta & Don Sunderland, Wendell & Jan Royster, Rex & Jo Shaffer, Bobby & Robin Goss.

From Arkansas were Randy & Dollie Lou Resh, Jess Tomlin & Judy Martin, Herman & Liz Smith. Glenn and Emma Krumm came from Wichita, KS and Ron and Debbie Berger from McKinney, TX.

Next year ’s cruise will be in eastern Oklahoma. Don ’t miss it!
